I painted We Need More Light after a period of reflexion. I had been working in monochrome inks for sometime and notice the paintings that came after were all very dark in colours. I realised I need to break the dark colour cycle with something brighter.

I spent some time looking at the different paints available and decided on 

Michael Harding Oil Colours. The colours have a high load of top-quality pigments 

and are made by hand, using techniques which date back to the days of the Old Masters.
