Nieuwvliet-bad Paalhoofde

Nieuwvliet-bad Paalhoofde
Oil on block paper

This is the fourth painting of a series of four titled Nieuwvliet-bad Paalhoofden the Dutch version of wave-breakers or Groynes, literally the heads of timber poles. They’re driven deep into the beach and sea floor in long parallel rows. Standing firm against the endless lashings of tides and currents suffered by the Dutch Land on Sea.
